Erin’s Thoughtful Path to Functional Medicine
A Foundation in WellnessErin has always been passionate about wellness and about making health feel digestible and accessible to real people. She began her career studying nutrition at Texas Christian University and spent several years working as a clinical dietitian before pursuing medicine. She went on to train as a Physician Assistant at UTMB, where she graduated at the top of her class — an experience that sharpened her clinical skills while also revealing key gaps in traditional medical training.
Seeing the Gaps in CareDuring her medical education and early clinical work, Erin became increasingly aware of how little emphasis conventional medicine places on disease prevention, lifestyle factors, and true wellness-building. She saw patients moved through algorithms and protocols instead of being understood as individuals with complex stories. This disconnect highlighted something fundamental: the need to understand why symptoms develop, not just how to match them to a diagnosis.
Discovering a Better WayFunctional Medicine offered a model that aligned with her convictions. It blended her nutrition background with evidence-based medical practice and emphasized root-cause evaluation rather than symptom management. For Erin, this approach felt like a natural fit — thoughtful, comprehensive, and human-centered.
The Power of the Whole StoryAs a clinician, Erin stays committed to ongoing learning and regularly reviews the latest research to provide informed, effective care. But research is only one part of her process. What most distinguishes her is the way she listens. Erin believes a patient’s story is essential to understanding their health. She takes into account the whole person — medical history, relationships, stress patterns, sleep, nutrition, movement, environment, and daily rhythms — and uses this information to design treatment plans that fit the individual rather than forcing them into a template.
Life Beyond the ClinicOutside of work, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters. She loves cooking, traveling, and getting outdoors to hike, camp, and explore the natural beauty of Colorado.
